We assume that most businesses are now using some form of Social Media these days, but that is not the case for businesses. In fact, a recent article has shown that 94% of companies do not yet use Social Media as part of their marketing strategy.

Already we have seen how Social Media has worked for Circleline as a company and the many benefits it has to offer.

We understand that each customer has different marketing goals and strategies but we can make social media work for you and become part of your SEO plan.

There are still misconceptions on the best way of using Social Media for business. Ultimately the benefits of using social media and why businesses use it is for generating leads, keeping up to date with your industry, customer feedback and building working relationships.

It is important, like everything in business to have a strategy, what do you want to get out of your Social Media Campaign? And should you have a Social Media policy at all? Is a Social Media strategy right for your business?

Whether you have a Social Media presence or not, people will talk about your business, but Social Media can strengthen your brand. Use Social Media for marketing and selling your product or brand and coincide it with your existing marketing strategy. That doesn't mean getting rid of your marketing strategy and just concentrating on social media, it's all about what works for your business.

Facebook

Facebook can be used as a highly effective business tool, it can be used to market your products, connect with customers and it can be used as an extension of your website, we can see that more and more companies are using Facebook as a way to promote their brand. Facebook can be used for many opportunities, to post business activities on your wall such as the clients you are working with and projects you are working on. Share interesting articles and links to blogs etc. and to engage your customers. Some companies even use it for promotions, by posting offers and discounts on their wall, exclusive to their facebook fans.

Twitter

Twitter is a very useful tool to promote your business, it can be used in the same way as Facebook but on a smaller scale as you are limited to only 140 characters. Twitter is used to build business relationships within the community. You can use Twitter to link back to your website to your recent blog, article or news item or facebook post. Use Twitter to share links, talk about non-business too, it doesn't have to be too formal, ask questions and follow interesting people. Commenting on tweets and re-tweeting what other people have posted is a great way to build community and spread your brand identity.

Linkedin

Linkedin is used to promote yourself and your business and used by business professionals worldwide. Linkedin is like an online C.V to create your personal and business profile. It's a perfect tool to advertise your business and you as a person, after all people do like to know about the person behind the company. You can link your Twitter account to your Linkedin account but it is sometimes worthwhile keeping the accounts separate as you may have a different target audience for each.

You may not be using Social Media as a business strategy but more often than not your competitors will be. Social Media is spreading the word about your business and without Social Media, you are limited to the ways in which you can do this, after all you could potentially be reaching to millions of people. It's not a quick process and it will take a lot of effort, time and hard work but eventually you will see the benefits.
